Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Yesterday, Sunday, we helped out with the MV Kiwanis BBQ. We fired up the pit and roasted up almost One Thousand chicken dinners.

LKD's sister and brother in law stopped over for lunch on Saturday. All three had been on a visit to Jean's home in Reading, CT.

The local chapter of Master Gardeners offered their plants for sale at the OC fairgrounds. Soon some of the planters on the deck will be festooned with flowers.

Hopefully the raccoon will allow the plants some privacy. They have a habit of coming in the night and pulling the plants out and leaving them for dead on the deck.

The day was spent on small tasks. We prepared the flower pots for their seasonal occupants. We did get a few plants potted up on the deck and on the front stairs.

LKD came home from a warm day in the classroom. She scrubbed the deck furniture and we got the cushions out of storage. A few more tasks and the deck will be nice and comfy.

As the afternoon winds down there are reports of huge tornados in Oklahoma. The size and force of these systems over the past couple of days has been remarkable. Hopefully folks in the path had time to heed the warnings.
