Memorial Day in and around Millsburg

This weekend was the 'unofficial' start of summer. That is if you listen to the marketing and newscasts on the tellie-vision. This years retail plan took a hit in the Northeast. It turned out to be one of those Memorial Day Weekends where the temperatures dipped and there was more rain and clouds than sun. And just for fun there was a nice dose of wind gusts.
LKD insisted that the weather was perfect and that the deck is officially ready for summer.

The BBQ was invoked to grill up a batch of burger dogs. Some Coney Island Sauce and baked beans joined the party. The showers were intermittent so the charcoals had a chance to work the magic!

Residents of the Town of Minisink, Village of Unionville and most of the folks from Millsburg attended the annual Memorial Day Parade. The Mayor of Millsburg was a VIP and took time today to remember other WWII servicemen that did not come home.

The parade was on Monday and the weather cleared and turned out to be a perfect spring day!

All the local Boy Scout troops, Minisink School Bands, the area fire companies and ambulance corps were on hand to display their membership and equipment. Greenville Fire Company even has a Traffic Control Vehicle. I guess someday there will be traffic so it is best to be prepared.
